We are pleased to announce our Summer Tournament program for Fairfax American Little League. We hope to have at least 5 teams, with a possible 6th team, who will represent us -- 8-10, 9-11, and 10-12 Majors Little League Tournament teams and 8-9- and 9-11 year-old Special Minors Tournament teams. The 6th team would be a 10-12 Special Majors team which would only compete locally like the Special Minors teams. The final number of teams we form will be determined based on player and manager/coach availability. We need each family to review the information below and indicate whether you are interested in being eligible for selection on a team before 10:00 PM on May 8, 2026; no players will be accepted for consideration after this time.

Each tournament team requires differing levels of family commitment. Please consider summer vacation plans and activities BEFORE committing to any of the post-season tournament teams, as selected players are expected to be available throughout the duration of play until the team is finished.

• The teams will be announced approximately June 1, 2026. 

• Practices may begin approximately on June 1st with a practice/game/scrimmage almost every evening during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays.

• Once the school year is over, practices may last longer than regular-season practices. 

Estimated minimum commitments through Championship Game of the District 10 Tournament:

The Fairfax American Little League Tournament teams are formed through a competitive selection.

For the Majors division, a ballot with all eligible players is provided to every Majors division player, Manager and Coach. The top five vote recipients will be automatically selected to the Majors team. The Division Vice President, Player Agent and tournament team manager shall then meet to select six (6) additional tournament team members from the names of the players who were the 6th through 25th highest vote recipients. The Majors Division tournament team manager and assistant coaches may then, collectively, select at least one (1), but not more than three (3) otherwise eligible player(s) to complete the Majors Division tournament team roster. The total number of players must be between 12,13, or 14.  

For all other levels, Manager input is gathered and selections are made by a committee that includes the Tournament Manager, Division VP and Division Player Agent. Manager input, player stats and an evaluation of on-field performance are all considered as part of the selection process.  The total number of players must be between 12,13, or 14.

Every player selected for a Tournament Team must send the following documents to the Player Agent. Without these documents, a player may not play on a Tournament team. Parents should check their birth records now to make sure they qualify for acceptance:

It is an honor to be selected to a Tournament Team and we understand the time commitment involved. However, please note that playing time rules are different than regular season: 

• Batting - A continuous batting order is used for Tournament games (except Seniors).  

• Defense - There are no defensive playing requirements regardless of roster size.   

Please expect that Tournament Team Managers will implement these rules and some players will likely only receive the minimum playing requirement in certain games. This is a highly competitive environment and this strategy is consistent across all teams participating in District, State, Regional, and International Tournaments. 

Please discuss with your player their expectations prior to making them eligible for selection to a Tournament Team.
