Umpire Registration Now OPEN!

Fairfax Little League is looking for adult and youth umpires for the Spring 2021 season. Registration for umpires is now open. You may register to become an adult/youth umpire during the player registration process when prompted to select a volunteer position. Just click "Spring 2021 Registration" above to begin the process. If you do not have a player in the league and would like to register to become an adult/youth umpire, click here for or instructions on how to do so.

Adult Volunteer Umpires - Adult volunteer umpires are a critical resource for the league. Umpiring youth games is a great way to volunteer your time to help develop our players. If your son/daughter is planning to umpire, becoming an adult umpire is also a great way to work with them on the field. We will provide training. If you are interested in volunteering some time to be an umpire, please register on the website and/or send me an email ([email protected]).

Youth Umpires - Umpires should be league age 13 or older for the spring season. Youth umpires are paid for the games they officiate. This is a great way to earn some money. Youth umpires should register on the website. Returning youth umpires (ie, any umpire that has taken the full winter rules training and passed the exam) should plan to attend the field mechanics training in the spring.

Important Message for New Umpires (including those that started umpiring in the fall of 2020 but have not taken the full winter rules training)

New umpires must attend “New Umpire Rules Training” this winter. Due to COVID, the exact format of the training and the dates will be determined soon. Generally this training consists of 6 evenings of classroom instruction. There will be a rules exam on the final evening that you must pass in order to be eligible to umpire in the spring.

There is also a mandatory field mechanics training that will be held on a Sunday afternoon before the season begins. The date for this training will be determined soon.
