Adult Volunteer Umpires - Adult umpires are volunteer positions.  We do not have a sufficient number of umpires right now, making it difficult to cover all of our games, especially at majors and juniors.  Being an adult umpire is a great way to get involved and volunteer your time to help develop the kids in our league.  If you have a child that is going to be umpiring, it is also a great way to work with them on the field.

Youth Umpires - If you will be 13 or older on or before August 31, 2022, you are eligible to be a youth umpire.  Youth umpires are paid for the games they cover.  Youth umpires start by covering AA and AAA games and ultimately can progress to cover majors and juniors games.  Pay increases as you move up.  Being a youth umpire is a great way to earn money while helping to develop young players.  Youth umpires should register as an umpire on the website here.

New Umpire Rules Training Schedule - You are a new umpire if you have not attended the full winter rules training (if you attended fall rules training and started umpiring last fall, you still need to attend the full winter rules training).  Training for new umpires will be held on the following dates at Canterbury Woods Elementary School (cafeteria) from 6:30-8:30.  This training is designed for new youth and adult umpires (returning umpires are welcome to attend as well).  We cover all of the rules in detail over 6 two hour sessions (you should attend all of the sessions).

Umpire Rules Training Dates:

Tuesday (2/22)
Thursday (2/24)
Thursday (3/3)
Tuesday (3/8)
Wednesday (3/9)
Tuesday (3/15)

Field Mechanics training will be held on the field at Thaiss Park in March.  The date is not yet determined.

If you have any questions, please email Mike Carchia at [email protected].

If you have any questions about the new website and the registration process, please email ([email protected]).

I look forward to seeing you on the field.
