FXLL is always looking for volunteer adult umpires. We definitely have a shortage of adults that umpire games. Umpiring is a great way to get involved in an area of great need. We provide training (see below). If you have a child that is umpiring, attend the training with them and you can work games together.
Youth Umpires - If you will be 12 years old on or before August 31, 2022, you are eligible to be a youth umpire. Youth umpires are paid for the games they cover. Please register on the website. New umpires must attend the training on August 28 (see below for details).
UMPIRE TRAINING
Umpire training will be held on August 28 at Pine Ridge Park (home of Annandale North Springfield Little League). Rules training for new umpires will start at 1:00pm. Field mechanics for all umpires will start at 3:00pm. We should be done around 5:00pm.
Following training, we will distribute umpire equipment (shirts, hats, etc.) for the umpires.
If you have any questions about the new website and the registration process, please email ([email protected]).
I look forward to seeing you on the field.
Mike Carchia
FXLL Chief Umpire
